Joana Teixeira was born in 1991, in Ponta Delgada, the Azores.
In 2014, she obtained her degree in Painting from the Lisbon University Faculty of Fine Arts having, in 2011, completed several courses and training sessions in the fields of animation, cartoon/comic strip and illustration.
In 2015, she completed a pedagogic skills course to be a trainer, and since 2014 has taught on animation workshops.
As a graphic artist and animator, she has collaborated since 2012 on films and other animation projects, including: Vígil/Vigil by Rita Crunchinho: Suspensão/Suspension and Cáusticos/Caustics by Luís Soares, and Sr. Passageiro/Mr. Passenger, O Ciclo/The Cycle, and Dom Fradique by Zepe.
